Who will be my main point of contact during construction?

During construction, you will have two points of contact.

Your Lead Carpenter will be your primary contact, managing the day-to-day work on site, including deliveries, job site safety, the construction process, and minor change orders.

Your Project Manager will be your secondary + emergency contact. They will oversee the overall schedule, answer general questions, address any issues that come up, and facilitate major change orders. They will also meet with you weekly or biweekly to review schedule updates and keep you informed throughout the project.

What happens before construction begins?

Before construction begins, we hold a pre-construction meeting with you and your lead carpenter. This meeting gives everyone a chance to review the project, confirm expectations, and prepare the home before work starts.

We’ll go over site staging, floor protection, dust control, jobsite hours, access, and any special requests, including considerations for children or pets living in the home.

Can I make a change to the design or specifications during my project?

Yes. If you want to make a change during construction, we’ll review the request with you before moving forward. Some changes may be simple, while others can affect the project cost and schedule.

We’ll explain how it affects the schedule and price, and provide a written change order for approval. No additional work is completed without your approval first.

What happens if unexpected issues come up?

We do our best to avoid unexpected issues through careful planning and communication, but sometimes things come up once construction begins.

If an unexpected issue is discovered, we’ll explain what happened, review the available options, and outline any impact on the scope, schedule, or cost. If additional work is needed, we’ll provide a written change order for approval before moving forward.

How do you protect my home during construction?

Can I live in my home while it is being remodeled?

In most cases, yes. Whether you can live in the home during construction depends on the type of project, the areas being worked on, and how much the work will affect your daily routine.

If we believe the home will not be comfortably livable during construction, we’ll let you know ahead of time. Whenever possible, we take extra steps to make the process more manageable, such as setting up a temporary kitchen area or planning access around the spaces you still need to use.

What happens at the end of the project?

At the end of the project, we complete a final walkthrough with you and create a punch list for any remaining touch-ups or small items that need attention. Our team will review the list, complete the necessary work, and make sure the finished project meets our standards.

Once the punch list is complete, your warranty begins. If any warranty-related issues come up after construction, we’ll review them with you and make the necessary repairs according to the terms of your warranty.
